Workers win paid family leave!

Wahington workers will be able to access up to 12 weeks of paid leave for a family member's serious medical condition, and up to 12 weeks of paid leave for your own serious medical condition. (Birth mothers will be able to use 16 weeks total, or 18 weeks in the event of complications.)

Tens of thousands of Seattle food, coffee, and retail workers now have the right to a secure schedule

That means two weeks notice of your schedule, predictability pay if your employer changes that schedule, no more mandatory clopening shifts, and access to additional hours for those who want them.
