Washington State’s innovative tech companies have opened up new opportunities, grown our local economy, and created the fortunes of some of the richest people in the world.
Now we need to make sure our fast-growing tech economy lifts up all of us, not just a lucky few.
At Working Washington, we embrace innovation while also calling for bold steps to ensure that the benefits of the tech economy are broadly shared so that everyone can support themselves, afford the basics, and contribute to the economy. Our approach includes:
App-based workers are organizing with Working Washington to ensure that the gig economy continues to offer flexibility and opportunity while also providing living wages and access to basic benefits like healthcare, retirement, and workers comp.
People who work higher-wage jobs in the tech economy are coming together with Working Washington to explore different ways for our state to remain at the cutting edge of technology and lead the way to ensure that the future of work includes a future for workers.
We organize in solidarity with all of the workers who serve the tech economy, including the security officers who work subcontracted jobs protecting tech company assets, the fulfillment center workers at the heart of the internet supply chain, and the countless retail, food, and other service workers who serve the industry’s employees.
