One Year

The call for $15/hour was first heard in Seattle late in the evening on May 29, 2013, when fast food workers walked out of the Ballard Taco Bell, kicking off a our first citywide fast food strike and sparking a new movement to ensure every worker can support themselves, afford the basics, and contribute to the economy.

Exactly a year later, the Seattle City Council voted unanimously to move a $15 minimum wage plan to final passage.

And on Monday, Seattle will be the first city to raise the minimum wage to $15.

We won’t be the last.
